Understanding NFPA 285 Compliance for Wall Assemblies

Johns Manville AP™ Foil Polyiso Sheathing recently received approvals for additional NFPA 285 wall assemblies, including solid metal panels.  This comes at a significant time, as the trend toward green building design has led to increased use in foam plastic insulations, structural fire control has become a higher priority for many building designers.

This has led to a growing demand for wall assembly fire test methods, like NFPA 285. Understanding how to use and interpret the test data from NFPA 285 is important to designing and building exterior walls with fire safety in mind.
